Quick Start Guide

Welcome to HandyMote! This guide will help you get started with controlling your computer from your phone.

Prerequisites

  1. Computer: Windows 10/11 or macOS 11+.
  2. Phone: Any smartphone with a modern web browser (iOS or Android).
  3. Network: Both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 1: Download and Install

Download the HandyMote desktop app for your computer from our Download Page.

  • Windows: Run the installer (.exe).
  • macOS: Open the .dmg file and drag HandyMote to your Applications folder.

Step 2: Connect

  1. Open HandyMote on your computer.
  2. You will see a QR code on the screen.
  3. Open your phone's camera or a QR code scanner app.
  4. Scan the QR code.
  5. Tap the link to open the web controller.

Step 3: Start Controlling

You should now see the control interface on your phone!

  • Trackpad: Move your finger on the screen to move the mouse cursor. Tap to click.
  • Media: Switch to the Media tab to control music and video playback.
  • Keyboard: Tap the keyboard icon to type on your computer.
